FARTICUS Jun 19 @ SUB-MISSION/BALAZO

LittleBook: Why did you start a band??
FARTICUS: We were all friends already and we needed an outlet to express our collective unconscious. At the beginning of '07 we had access to a huge warehouse in Oakland where we could jam for next to nothing, so we started writing songs.

LB: How did you find each other??
F: We knew each from way back, then Vag came out of nowhere.

LB: What's your most memorable moment as a band??
F: New year's eve '09 here in SF; we played at a mansion with the Corruptors and the party went all night. Cheers to those guys for having us play it was a BLASSTTT!*$#

LB: Where do you practice? What do you drink at practice? What do you do at practice when you’re not practicing?
F: We practice in Hunter's Point. There's radiocativity everywhere and hardly any people to bother us. We drink mostly soda and juice or beer 'cause the tap water is toxic.

LB: What's the hardest thing about being a band in 2009?
F: Everything is too damn expensive!!! We have to put up our own money to play a good show around here now. This month's show at Sub-Mission is put on by us... come support!!

LB: What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
F: We are playing on the 19th of June at Sub-Mission in San Francisco, along with Skitzo, Savage Machiine, Cretaceous and Fluff Grrl.

LB: What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
F: The CD is available from us, or you can get it at Aquarius Records on Valencia Street in SF. Recorded in the Tenderloin by Scott Evans.

LB: Favorite San Francisco Band or a memorable show??
F: Tough one, maybe the Ass Baboons Of Venus, or OxBow, or...?? Our favorite Canadian band is Saga, hands down. Memorable recent show: Fang and Verbal Abuse at Club Six, you all shoulda been there!!!!!!!

LB: Favorite venue to Play??
F: Anywhere that tolerates really loud amps and broken glass and a little blood on the floor.

LB: Have you played the SUB-MISSION/BALAZO before? What do you like it?
F: We never played there but we're looking forward to it. They took on the show when no one else would.

LB: Do any of the members ever take their shirts off at a show or at practice??
F: Always shirtless.

LB: Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??
F: Vag most definitely.

LB: Favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual??
F: Dim sum, burritos, getting boozed up, snorting shit that's around... the usual

LB: Where do you think live music is heading??
F: It's never gonna stop in our lifetime

LB: How do you feel about people downloading your songs for free , do you offer free downloads??
F: Download it, we don't give a shit. I guess we don't offer free downloads come to think of it, but maybe we will in the future. Until then buy the CD if you wanna listen to us or burn it off somebody that has it!
