K.C.------------Guitar/Vox

LittleBook: Why did you start a band??
TERATON
: We like to play...

LB: How did you find each other??
T: Kevin
had just gotten back from the road, being a professional drunk and T-shirt slanger. K.C. hit him up on MySpace (lame, but fortunate) and slipped him a few discs of jams he was working on with JT. And that's it.

LB: What's your most memorable moment as a band??
T:
Driving back from L.A., leaving at 2 in the morning and almost dying somewhere around King City because Kevin was falling asleep at the wheel. Why does memorable always have to be good?

LB: Favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual??
T: Kevin
likes to eat no less than one pound of pork then meditate on the toilet. K.C. must herbally medicate himself and then gargle nails. JT drinks a Red Bull then vomits and tries to cancel the show. Post show super burritos with orange sauce are always good.

LB: What do you drink at practice??
T:
Water, 32 oz. Red Bulls and Busch.

LB: What's the hardest thing about being a Band in Santa Cruz??
T:
Being a band in Santa Cruz.

LB: What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
T:
Eating, then taking a dump... Oh, you mean with music. Uhmmmmmmm... I dunno. Go to Portland maybe?

LB: What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
T:
We have a demo out that you can get at our shows, it comes with a beer coozie. We recorded at Slow Roasted Recording, which is funny because it's mobile so we didn't really record at anywhere. We also have a split (you can stream it on MySpace) that's finished and will be released sometime this century and a full length we're gonna start working on this year.

LB: Favorite Local Band or a memorable show??
T: Zzzzzzzzzaaaat!

LB: Favorite venue to Play??
T:
They're all so amazing, it's hard to pick just one. Slim's was real fun...

LB: What do you like about The Retox Lounge, have you played there before?
T:
Never played there before, I guess we'll find out. We like that it's in SF.

LB: Do any of the members ever take their shirts off at a show or at practice??
T:
No. Gross... K.C. goes sleeveless. He'll show off the guns but not the manbear sweater.

LB: Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??
T: K.C
. That dirty hippie needs to shower more. Plus he makes bagels for a living.

LB: Where do you think live music is heading??
T:
In the right direction and the wrong direction all at the same time. We live in exciting times.

LB: How do you feel about people downloading your songs for free , do you offer free downloads??
T:
No prob bob. For the love of jeebus though, support live music by buying merch at shows when somebody stokes you out onstage.

Coerced Into Battle - Dec 15th 7pm @ El Rio, San Francisco

Phtot by: Nichelle M. Broadway myspace.com/nmb_photos

LittleBook: Why did you start a band??
Coerced Into Battle:
Being in a band is something we all wanted to do after hearing our first Sepultura song. It's rad that we grew up together, sort of, and learned to play our different instruments. We are friends and band mates all in one.

LB: How did you find each other??
CIB: We went to middle school and high school together in Los Banos, CA.

LB: What's your most memorable moment as a band??
CIB:
Our last trip up to Seattle to play the metal fest was a rad time. We just released Enemy Mine and we couldn't wait to play some shows. It felt different playing shows after that knowing we had our first CD pressed.

LB: Any favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual ?
CIB: I do Vox and prefer not to eat more than a few hours before a show. Raul will somehow find the most gnarley truck stop hot dog or snack to scarf down. Thad has his big jug of water. We practice our set on unamplified guitars to warm up before a show.

LB: What do you drink at practice??
CIB:
RedBull and water. Again Raul gets the sandwiches from the vendor that Thad and I are not sure about.

LB: What’s the hardest thing about being a Bay Area Band??
CIB:
The Bay Area is a big place to promote and there are a whole lot of bands around here. You gotta hit the ground hard to make your name known.

LB: What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
CIB: We are working on our next album right now. We just released our current album through Rising Records but we honestly released the CD on our own last year. We have been playing the songs for a couple of years though and it is time to get some fresh new ideas out.

LB: What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
CIB: You can buy our CD from our myspace page, iTunes, Rhapsody, CD baby, Tower Records, Target onnline and .... I think we lost count of the actual places you can buy it. Our album released through the record label is an import in the US since Rising Records is in the UK so be prepared to pay more if you buy it through them.

LB: Favorite San Francisco Band or a memorable show??
CIB:
All Shall Perish! Is this some kind of trick question. haha

LB: Favorite venue to Play??
CIB: The Metro was rad. We have played quite a bit at Roosters Roadhouse and the sound guy is really good and a cool dude.

LB: Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??
CIB: Do you use Dial? Don't you wish someone else did?
