FlexXBronco - February 7th @ El Rio

http://www.myspace.com/johnny_crash_allen

Filthy (guitar)
Guy Thunderbird (Bass and Vox)
Vinnie Regret (Guitar)
Thor bigsby (Drums)

LittleBook: Why did you start a band??
Filthy:
I was coming out of this weird "Bodybuilding" faze in my life and needed something else to do with all that energy. Also I needed a really good reason to be skinny again.

LB: How did you find each other??
F:
I put an online ad up on SF musician that read " Thai lady boy with big guitar looking for a monster to beat the skins" and Thor answered the call!!!

LB: What's your most memorable moment as a band??
F:
This band has had alot of HIGH points man, we have played shorleline. However for this line up I would have to say the first "Shirts Off" party in Vegas and looking out and seeing 100 sweaty tattooed lads arm in arm singing along to "Barfight"!!!. Playing with the Bronx  at the Galaxy Theatre comes in a close second.

LB: Favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual??
F:
Thor Smokes ALOT of Pot, Guy and Vinnie play bored games, drink and smoke Thors pot, and for myself I usually drink a ton of redbulls and talk alot of shit.

LB: What do you drink at practice??
F:
Thor usually rolls with a bottle of Black Label everywhere he goes. Vinnie and Guy drink Thors black label and I drink a Ton Reb Bulls.

LB: What’s the hardest thing about being a Band in the Bay Area??
FB:
Dealing with all the hipsters and live 105 bullshit. People need to stop going to dj parties and start supporting local music. That is why we tour so much. In other cities people actually go out clubs to see/hear bands and hang out.

LB: What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
FB:
It's all about our new official Flexx Bronco Youtube page. FlexXBronco TV, we are recording just about everything we do and putting it up there. Go to www.youtube.com/officialflexxbronco

LB: What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
FB:
Well Vol 1 you can get on iTunes, interpunk, Amazon, all those places. or our MySpace. vol 2 coming up will have a bunch of vinyl singles that we are very excited about. Our first cd was recorded at The Plant just across the bridge and at our compound in hunters point with our producers Bad Ass HD rig using this dead room I built.

LB: Favorite San Francisco Band or a memorable show??
FB:
Hmmm we all have different bands we are into so i cant really answer that. It used to be the Teenage Harlots. They are gone now :-( favorite show in SF... ha oh getting kicked out of and banned from the Makeout Room cause the sound man thought we were actually going to start a "BARFIGHT" then receiving an awesome write up in Performer magazine for our performance. Priceless!!!

LB: Favorite venue to Play??
FB:
For some reason the Elbo Room brings out the best in us. we have had some epic sweaty ripping shows there.

LB: Do any of the members ever take their shirts off at a show or at practice??
FB:
Dude this is FlexXBronco, inventors of "The Shirts Off Party" the more clothes that come off, anywhere, the better.

LB: Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??
FB:
When we tour guy and myself hardly every shower or change our pants and Vinnie is French so either one of us usually can conjur up some interesting smells after a show. There is a reason why our old tour van is named "Lil Dutchie"

LB: Where do you think live music is heading??
FB:
Well for FlexXBronco its all about putting on the biggest show we can, wherever we are. People want to be entertained and we give it to em every time. I dont want to go see some bands play, I want to watch a fucking show. Ya know? Go to a hardware store, build some cool shit, give people what they paid for.

LB: How do you feel about people downloading your songs for free , do you offer free downloads??
FB:
If you dont have a label helping you out then get your music out there however you can. So yeah, we are for it but we never give ourselves completely away. We will have a song or two available for download and then take it away and put something else up

The Devil's Own - Jan 28th @ Hotel Utah

LittleBook: Why did you start a band??
The Devil's Own: The band came about because some band needed to play all of these goddamn songs I keep writing and it's an excellent scheme to get a few free beers from the local clubs.

LB: How did you find each other??
TDO: At this point, we've all known each other for a long time. I snaked Gentleman Smith from Jeffrey Luck Lucas' band, sort of. And I hand-picked the others based on exactly what I want and who I want in this band.

LB:What's your most memorable moment as a band??
TDO: Playing the Heavy Metal Shop in Salt Lake City for its 21st anniversary with Michael Dean Damron and Thee Loyal Bastards and Kleveland. Kevin Kirk fucking rules!

LB:Favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual??
TDO: We're all keen on getting revved up on copious amounts of alcohol before and after our shows. I, Piss, am very partial to being super-stoned just before playing and then it depends on what's being offered.

LB:What do you drink at practice??
TDO:Lots of beer and lots of beer.

LB:What’s the hardest thing about being a Bay Area Band??
TDO:There are so fucking many Bay Area bands that the market is over-saturated. Other than that, it's about as easy as being a band from anywhere else.

LB:What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
TDO: We're currently breaking in a new bassist. As soon as he's cool, we'll begin recording a new full-length, playing out more and touring regionally. As for what we want people to know, a quote from the rock documentary, Bad News: "The lyrics! You gotta listen to the lyrics!"

LB:What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
TDO: We recorded our first CD up in Portland, Oregon with former I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch guitarist, Handsome Jon Burbank at his It's Cold, It Stinks and I Don't Like the Way It Sounds studio. It's available through us at our shows and through CDBaby. com

LB:Favorite San Francisco Band or a memorable show??
TDO: By far, the most memorable show is when we played with I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In the House in Las Vegas over Viva Las Vegas weekend. Bridget the Midget, Aerosmith's accountant, eye-crimping amounts of alcohol, a marriage proposal and a line that went out the door and around the corner until 4am.

LB:Favorite venue to Play??
TDO: Bottomofthehilltheeparksidehotelutah.

LB:Do any of the members ever take their shirts off at a show or at practice??
TDO: Not yet, but we're working on it.

LB:Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??
TDO: Mark (the lead guitarist) probably takes the sweat-cake on this. Maybe because he's the only one in the band who hasn't had his sweat glands surgically removed yet.

LB: Where do you think live music is heading??
TDO: Hopefully in front of a livelier crowd, for starters.
