LittleBook: Why did you start a band??

Stagger & Fall:
We were inspired by the
intensity and DIY nature of early 80's hardcore punk rock. "If you wanna rock write nine two minute songs, start a band, and rock the fuck out." pure release.

LB: How did you find each other??

S&F: 12 step recovery, myspace, and craiglist, the 3 best places to network.

LB: What's your most memorable moment as a band??

S&F: Playing with Roger Miret and the Disasters on the Race to Hell tour. Playing with Nashville Pussy and Rev Horton Heat in Modesto. woooohooo!

LB: Where do you practice? What do you drink at practice? What do you do at practice when you’re not practicing?

S&F: We practice on Armstrong street in Hunters Point. We drink Mountain Dew, Red Bull, water, and beer. smoke.

LB: What's the hardest thing about being a band in 2009?

S&F: Paying for your own recording and CD's when you know you're not going to make any money off them. Trying to create a buzz around your band. Music is easy, marketing is extremely time consuming.

LB: What do you want people to know about your band, what are you doing next??
S&F: We are a punk rock band with country and blues influences. We definitely rock.

LB: What's up with your CD where can I get it, where did you record it??
S&F: We are currently recording a CD at the Compound in Santa Cruz to be released digitally on Lorelei Records.

LB: Favorite San Francisco Band or a memorable show??
S&F: Rancid, One Man Army, the Bodies

LB: Favorite venue to Play??
S&F: Annie's Social Club, and soon to be the Bottom of the Hill. The Fillmore would be nice.

LB: Have you played Bottom of the Hill before? What do you like it? S&F: Bottom of the hill is awesome. it's a step up from the dives and car shows we usually play at.

LB: Who's the smelliest member after a sweaty gig??

S&F: All
our gigs are sweaty. We smell like roses.

LB: Favorite pre / post show; food, indulgence or ritual??
S&F:
We're a working class band, we're not very indulgent. We play hard and leave everything on the stage. before and after that is like, who cares?

LB: Where do you think live music is heading??
S&F: To hearing loss.

LB: How do you feel about people downloading your songs for free , do you offer free downloads??
S&F: Nobody has a choice. I feel like i'd like to get paid. The music industry is in a shambles. you better be in it for the love of the music and performing. Making a living off this shit ain't gonna happen for us.
